Good Day,
Happy Moving.
Well, you can always split the space into two disticnt areas with an office on one half and a sittign room on the other.
Dont line the walls and make sure to angle smaller furniture such as chairs and book cases.
If the room isnt big enough to divide space using the furniture, then pick the piece of furniture you want prominent, IE Couch or Desk, the move things around to accent it.
WHen sitting in a living room you want to be able to see the tv, but it is also a place where people sit and talk, so keep that in mind.
Mind be a good idea to put desk under window with book shelf diagonal in the corner next to it. Put the couch along the wall FACING the door, with chair and tv opposite the couch at opposing angles, so they face in.
Get plants. They hide a multitude of sins.

Whatever you do, don’t just line the stuff up along the walls. You can put the short end of the couch along the midpoint of the wall, facing the door, and then put the desk against the back of the couch to create two living areas. Place the bed in the corner by the window, and you can get a drape to hang from the ceiling at the foot of the bed, to delineate the sleeping area and give a bit of privacy. Area rugs also help you visually divide the space. Good Luck!

Put the bed furthest away from the door. Put the couch closer to the door. Put the TV across from the couch. Put the desk and shelf between the bed and couch area.

Here’s a link to Better Homes and Gardens arrange a room. You can set the dimensions and then put in your furniture and move it around so you can see how you’ll like it. I would make the part closest to the door more like your living room with the couch, desk and tv and the other part by the window more of a bedroom. You might even want to buy a partition screen to kind of divide the living area from the bed area.

It appears that you will be able to arrange furniture from all the ideas presented. :)…but you will still have a dark room. Here are some suggestions to help you over come that little problem.
Hang mirrors. The more the better, as they will reflect the light that does come in.
Paint the walls a light color, though bright white would be to harsh. An off white/creme/beige color would be light/bright but not appear so harsh and aesthetic.
Clean the one window before hanging any curtains/drapes/blinds. You may want to try blinds that roll up past the window, folding screens that can be moved in front of a window or away from the window for light, and shutters that fold completely away from the window. You can also install drapery rods long enough so there is room to open the drapes and completely expose the window. Use sheers if you have to keep the window covered. Hang a valance or swag above the window, so that is doesn’t actually cover the window, just the frame.
Hope these ideas help
